Homeowner’s Review
It was a simple fix that made a big difference – there’s no more standing water when it rains.

Problem
A residential driveway experienced persistent water pooling at its lowest point, where runoff from the lawn and pavement converged. Without proper drainage or grading, stormwater collected along the driveway edge, creating standing water that reduced accessibility and posed safety risks. Ongoing saturation and freeze-thaw cycles accelerated concrete deterioration and increased the potential for erosion, making the issue consistent even after moderate rainfall.
Solution
To eliminate recurring water accumulation, a Trench•Era™ FP Series system by
Trench Drain Systems was strategically installed across the driveway at the natural low point. Integrated directly into the concrete with precise grading and proper slope, the system efficiently intercepts and redirects stormwater away from the driveway and adjacent landscape. High-capacity ductile iron grates were selected to ensure optimal surface intake while maintaining a clean, low-profile appearance. The installation also included proper subgrade preparation and a connected outlet system to safely convey captured water to an appropriate discharge location, preventing future pooling.
As a result, surface water is effectively captured and redirected before it can accumulate,
eliminating surface pooling across the driveway. This improved drainage enhances safety for both vehicles and pedestrians while protecting the integrity of concrete from long-term water damage, erosion, and seasonal deterioration. Additionally, it blends seamlessly into the driveway design, providing a visually unobtrusive solution that elevates curb appeal while delivering reliable, high-performance stormwater management.
